Jose Silva began his research into the mind and human potential in 1944, and began teaching courses based on his research findings in 1966. He continued to conduct research to find a reliable way to communicate with and obtain guidance from higher intelligence. Jose Silva Jr., the first of 10 children born to Jose and Paula Silva, recorded and documented much of his father's research during the 1950's and 1960's. When Mr. Silva began to take his System to the pubic in 1966, "Joe Jr." was in the Navy, serving in Vietnam. When his tour was up, he heeded his father's request to return to Laredo to help him manage the rapidly growing company.
In 1998, Mr. Silva set up a new company to manage his new course, the UltraMind ESP System, and assigned the ownership to his long-time management team: Joe Jr., who was then serving as President of Silva International; his nephew Alex Gonzalez, Senior Vice President of Silva International; and Jose Luis "Pepe" Romero, Comptroller of Silva International. Joe Jr. has majority ownership of Silva UltraMind Systems LLC and serves as President of the company. Joe and Pepe Romero also serve as Trustees of Jose Silva's Estate.

Katherine Sandusky, president of Avlis Productions Inc., went to work for Jose Silva shortly after graduating from high school in Laredo, and she has been involved in the Silva Method ever since. In addition to managing Avlis Productions and recruiting and supporting UltraMind Instructors, Kathy also presents the UltraMind ESP System and Jose Silva's Holistic Faith Healing techniques. This picture of her was taken when she was working at Silva International headquarters in 1992.

Ed Bernd Jr., director of Avlis Productions product development, moved to Laredo in 1981 when he was asked to come and edit the company's newsletter, and he has been in Laredo ever since. One of his first projects was editing Jose Silva's autobiography. In all he has worked on more than a dozen books with Mr. Silva, as editor, coauthor with Mr. Silva, or author.
Jose Silva personally supervised the production of many of the Avlis Productions products before his passing. He also supervised and guided Ed in the development of specialized courses for athletes and sales people.
